GLOSSARY of TERMS

'Communion - Traditional'
Holy Communion in the style and language of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer (instead of 'BCP' or 'Common Worship - Order 2') on Sundays, these are all 8am services except Stert - 9.30am.

'Communion - Modern'
Modern language Communion services according to 'Common Worship - Order 1' and often using appropriate seasonal variations in booklets.
Sunday mid-morning services will include hymns and music - note times of services: all mid-morning services will now be at 10am, except for: Stert - 9.30am / Urchfont - 10.30am.

'Communion - Informal'
Also in modern language, but simpler, shorter and ...less formal! These will normally include music and hymns/songs, and are all at 10am.

'Informal Worship'
What have been 'Family Services' or 'All Age Worship' (i.e. not Communion services, but hopefully shorter , and simple and accessible). These will normally include music and songs, and will be at 10am - except for the All Cannings' 'Breakfast Service' - 8.45am.

'Evensong - Traditional'
Evening Prayer in traditional (1662 Book of Common Prayer) language and style - with music and hymns.
In winter months, All Cannings' services will be at 5pm, otherwise these are at 6pm.

'Songs of Praise'
An informal mixture of hymns/songs, readings and prayers.
In winter months, All Cannings' services will be at 5pm, otherwise these are at 6pm.
